Tanmart Selby

Tanmart Selby (better known as Tan) is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University’s Commercial Music Program where he was mentored in jazz piano by Kiki Sanchez and David Hammer (he was previously mentored by the late Mike Markaverich), and studied composition and arranging with Alejandro Sanchez-Samper, Dr. Tim Walters, and Michael Zager.

 

He has been playing piano since the age of eight. He has been a professional keyboard player for well over a decade. He has performed with The Crashers, Glenn Leonard’s Hitsville Live and Temptations Revue shows, opened up for The Weight Band (featuring Jim Weider), he has performed in the backing band for Loomis Brothers Circus, along with Hamid Circus too, and has also performed in the backing band for several musical productions for Westcoast Black Theater Troupe (Motown Christmas, Soul Man, Rockin’ Down Fairy Tale Lane & Marvin Gaye: Prince of Soul) and has played various other musical productions at the Venice Theater and SCF (his favorite show was Rocky Horror Picture Show).
