Gator Cases was founded in 2000 by father-daughter team Jerry Freed and Crystal Morris in Tampa, Florida. Initially, they launched with a small offering of molded plastic guitar cases at the Summer NAMM show in Nashville, Tennessee. From there, they expanded the product line to include case and bag solutions for pro audio, IT, audio visual, general utility, band instrument, and percussion.
Our story begins in Sweden – 1983. It was then, that Hans Nordelius (founder of NORD Keyboards) created the Digital Percussion Plate 1 – the first drum pad allowing for dynamic playing using sampled sounds. Crowned an instant success by the marketplace, ddrum’s innovative drum pads, heads and hoops quickly garnered a large and loyal following.
E. & O. Mari, Inc. remains the oldest incorporated, continuously family-owned & operated music string manufacturer in the world. Today E. & O. Mari / La Bella is still a family-owned and operated company, passed from Olinto Mari to his daughter Elisabetta Mari, and then to her son Richard Mari Cocco Jr., President and her grandson Eric Cocco, Vice-President and granddaughter, Lorenza Cocco. An advocate of the arts and music education worldwide, E. & O. Mari sponsors jazz and rock performance clinics, professional artist appearances and residencies. La Bella also supports many guitar festivals and competitions by subsidizing scholarships and awards.
